Halloween pretzelsticks
These aren't exactly suitable as treats for children, but they're just the right amount of horrifying for a Halloween party for adults.
Pretzel sticks
1 bar of white chocolate
2 tbsp raw sugar or granulated sugar
Red food colouring
Black food colouring
Start by dividing the sugar between two small bags. Add a drop of red food colouring to one bag and black food colouring to the other. Shake the bags and rub the food colouring into the sugar to create ash-grey sugar in one bag and red sugar for the embers in the other.
Melt the chocolate in a glass. The easiest way is to place the glass with the chocolate in the microwave and heat for 15 seconds at a time, stirring well between intervals until the chocolate has melted.
Dip the pretzel sticks into the white chocolate, leaving about 3 cm uncovered at the end to resemble a filter. You can also break some of the sticks in half to make shorter sticks, which can then be dipped into the sugar.
Dip the ends into either the red sugar, the grey sugar or both to create the effect of ash and glowing embers. Place the sticks on baking paper and leave until the chocolate has set.
Finish by spreading the remaining grey sugar over a plate and arranging the pretzel sticks on top.
